Hair Weaving in South Carolina
The South Carolina climate, while it is beautiful, is not always friendly to our hair. A lot of women in South Carolina have chosen to
wear hair extensions or a hair weave as it is most commonly referred to. Hair weaving offers style and convenience to many South
Carolina natives. The art of hair weaving has been long practiced in the state of South Carolina and is recently among the most talked
about hair processes in the industry. Right now there are more than 25,000 hair stylists in South Carolina and many of them are well
trained in the art of hair weaving and extensions. Hair weaving was originated in England through Africa. Some weaves can cause damage depending on the method being used. The bonding (adhesive) can be damaging if it's not
applied properly. There are several different types of hair weaves. There is the quick weave with bonding glue, and then there's the traditional
sew-in. A weave can cost anywhere from $85 to $250.00 depending on what technique is being done. Personally, I don't think they should because if someone doesn't know how to properly do a weave, it can cause real damage to
the hair and can sometimes come out in patches. Once again, it depends on the technique. If you have a full sew-in weave, you should start by cutting the thread on the hair and
remove it track by track. If you have the bonding method, you can apply any type of oil to the scalp or bonding remover and gently
massage it into the scalp until the track loosens up and slides right off the hair. A quick weave is when bonding glue is applied, a regular weave would be a traditional sew-in (a sew-in usually lasts longer). Really, it depends on the person. Human hair is almost always the best hair to use. Sometimes synthetic hair can hold up just as
well depending on the brand. I know that I've seen some incredible hair colors that were just a hot mess. It's okay to have fun with your hair and express your
personal style and individuality. So, if you have the right attitude, I'm sure you can pull off any type of style, but make sure you look in
the mirror first and take inventory. Wearing a weave is helpful for many folks with thinning hair. It allows your hair a chance to rest up from all the everyday wear and
tear of the curling irons and hairsprays. I do a lot of net-weaving with people that have thinning hair in the crown area. I've been weaving hair for over eight years now. My personal weave style is textured hair or a deep wave. It's care-free, fun and free-flowing and a great vacation hairstyle.
